Donors' Breakfast

Last Saturday Kenya Youth for Christ held a Donors Breakfast to bless those who contribute, in many and varied ways, to the YFC ministry here in Kenya.

We began with a yummy, healthy breakfast served by these helpful and friendly ladies.

Everyone enjoyed sitting, chatting and eating before the formalities begun.

Outside the door the banner was displayed describing what Youth for Christ is all about.
Our Vision:
As part of the Body of Christ, to see that every young person in every people group in every nation has the opportunity to make an informed decision to be a follower of Jesus Christ and become part of a local church
Our Mission:
To participate in the Body of Christ in the responsible evangelism of youth, presenting them with the person, work and teaching of Christ and discipling them into a local church
Strategic Focus:
Youth for Christ reaches young people everywhere, working together with the local church and other like-minded partners to raise up life-long followers of Jesus who are characterised by godliness in lifestyle, devotion to the Word of God and prayer, boldness in evangelism and commitment to social involvement.

Some music from Martha, John and Wanjiku set the mood

and then it was time for Sasino and Kelvin to begin the proceedings.
Note the new T-shirts with YFC in the shape of Kenya. Nice job Sasino. I'll be bringing mine home.

David, a member of the YFC Board and chaplain at a university in Nairobi, shared some words with us from Colossians Chapter 3. If we are going to reach young people with the life-changing message of Jesus Christ, we need to clothe ourselves with the compassion of Jesus, we need to connect with them and commit wholeheartedly to them.
He reminded us that we can Touch Tomorrow Today as we touch the lives of our young people with the message of God's love for each of them through Jesus Christ.

Anna, the National Director of YFC spoke

and also Eva, the chairperson of the YFC board.

Eva also introduced a very dear friend of Kenya YFC, Grace Ojiambo, the previous National Director.

I was also invited to share about my time with Kenya Youth for Christ.

Before we left for home each of us was given a gift. For me it will serve as a reminder to pray for the fruitful and ongoing ministry of Kenya Youth for Christ.
Well done team. It was a really good time of meeting together.
