So impressed with YFC Ethiopia.
Last week it was VBS
for the 'Shine Kids',
as in 'shoe shine'.
Once again foot washing was part of the program.
My feet were washed
and I washed feet.
Each day of the week the boys stayed for lunch before leaving to go back to the streets.
On the last day
a guy came from Youth Impact to speak to the shine kids about his past life as a street kid, and how life has changed for him through his relationship with Jesus Christ. You might like to check out this
3 minute video about the great work of Youth Impact in Ethiopia. The kids were invited to his office on Monday if any of them wanted to make a new start in life.
The boys listened quite intently.
Following the talk this young guy told us what he had learned during the week
and then a group of boys did a play about choosing to make changes in their lives. They were excellent.
Finally Amen assured them that our relationship doesn't end here. They are welcome to come to YFC at any time. They are now part of the family. Loved that. These are fun-loving, nice guys who've had a poor start to life for whatever reason.

Then it was time for food again - popcorn and a very large chunk of this rather strange, to me, Ethiopian bread delicacy.
Lots of the boys wanted to share their food with me and so I happily obliged.
What a great week with the 'Shine Kids'.
Each year lives are transformed through this ministry. Please join us in prayer that this year will be no exception.
