Our new address is:
We are settling into our 'home' on the 5th floor of an apartment building in the heart of this beautiful city. Here David & Joan, my travelling companions, are pictured outside the front door. An electronic key is needed to get through the big iron door into the building.
Here they are again in our very tiny lift which closes frighteningly fast and loud. But we are thankful
for a lift to the fifth floor. The power has only been off once so far!
And as we get out of the lift on the 5th floor our next security is a locked iron gate before the two deadlocks on our front door. Security is tight with many locks and keys and its time consuming getting in and out, but we feel very safe in a foreign city.
If anyone presses our '12' button downstairs and wants us to open the door and they don't speak English they obviously don't know us so we don't open it!
I have a light and airy room with a built-in balcony where we dry our clothes. We keep the windows open most of the time and a lovely breeze blows through the house to keep it cool.
Our dining talbe is on the other side of the house and faces east so it is always glarey in the morning (hence the hazy photo), but a lovely place for breakfast.
It's a narrow block of apartments and so we have great views from front and back. There are lots of trees throughout the city and also out our windows. These two photos were taken out the back windows.
And these two out the front
We reallly are so pleased with our apartment and thank God for some new thing about it every day. We feel really blessed to be here.
