A special day at Sarah's home

On Saturday I had a very special day with two beautiful women - Sarah and Judith. Sarah is the leader of the YFC rehab centre and Judith is volunteering there after finishing her degree in counselling. Sarah had invited us to her home for lunch.

Judith and I set out on the mutatu, alighted some distance away and then walked some more before catching a tuk tuk for quite some more distance. Sarah met us at the end of that part of the journey and we walked together to her home.

Almost there.
Sarah lives in a part of Nairobi that is still quite rural - houses only started popping up in the last couple of years.

This is Sarah and Judith at the front door

and the view from the front door.
Sarah really enjoys the peace and quiet of a semi-rural home.

Whenever there's a mzungu, white person, visiting there will usually be some inquisitive little people around. I'm never sorry about that. Such beautiful children, yes?

Sarah's home is very small but she has it set up so nicely. Gotta have a sewing corner - well, if you're Sarah or me you do.

Lunch was ugali and fish

and Sarah had gone to quite a bit of effort to make this delicious meal for us.

I have to say that the fish was definitely my favourite. Thank you so much for taking time to make such a delicious meal for us, Sarah.

We had such a good time together talking about all sorts of things - some simple, some deep and meaningful - and the time seemed to fly by.

As we began our walk home, we were treated to gifts of fresh avocados from the tree in the neighbour's yard. A perfect end to our day.
Thank you for your kind and generous hospitality, Sarah.
Judith and I enjoyed ourselves so very much.
